چکیده
Problem solving ability is very important in mathematics education, because problem one of the goals learning mathematics. The to solve mathematical problems influenced by various factors, including student styles. This study aims describe students' abilities terms research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. subjects used were 8 semester 1 students, 6 students taken with following details, namely 2 visual style, an audiotorial and kinesthetic style. Data collection techniques style questionnaires, tests, interviews. analysis include data reduction, presentation, drawing conclusions. results this show description problem-solving styles as follows: (1) can understand well, devise appropriate solution plan, carry out plan correctly, re-check answers that have been made. (2) auditory develop resolution plans, plans but do not stage re-checking answers. (3) able write settlement are less steps done.

Learning styles and problem solving strategies
A number of barriers found by novice students in programming learning motivated many researchers to work in this field. One of the causes of the students’ failure in introductory programming course is their inability to solve problems using computers. This paper reports some results of an experience aimed to help some students to improve their problem solving skills. Learning styles concepts an...
متن کاملThe Experience of Learning Styles and Approaches in Problem-solving
Problem-solving tasks are set as a regular part of the course work on most courses in science, mathematics and technology, and in some social science courses as well. They are seen as an important part of the students’ work because they require the application of knowledge and principles to new situations, thus testing and reinforcing the students’ real understanding of what they have learned. ...
متن کاملComputer-assisted learning for mathematical problem solving
Previous computer-assisted problem-solving systems have incorporated all the problem-solving steps within a single stage, making it difficult to diagnose stages at which errors occurred when a student encounters difficulties, and imposing a too-high cognitive load on students in their problem solving. This study proposes a computer-assisted system named MathCAL, whose design is based on four pr...

متن کاملLearning From Examples Versus Verbal Directions in Mathematical Problem Solving
This event-related fMRI study investigated the differences between learning from examples and learning from verbal directions in mathematical problem solving and how these instruction types affect the activity of relevant brain regions during instruction and solution periods within problem-solving trials. We identified distinct neural signatures during the instruction period of trials. While st...
